About this taskbar

Dock replaces your Windows taskbar with a macOS-style floating pill: big app icons over a transparent strip, centered at the bottom of the screen. A magnification wave follows your pointer, launches bounce until the app lands, new apps pop in and closed ones shrink away. DeskDash hides the native taskbar while a dock is active and brings it back the moment you switch it off.

Pinned apps come first, in the same order as your Windows taskbar, and stay in sync with it. Running apps follow, one button per app, with a dot per open window. A click launches, focuses or minimizes; an app with several windows opens a flyout of live previews with window titles and a close button per card. The start button opens the Windows start menu, and an optional system tray tucks the notification area into the pill.

Settings cover pinned apps and the system tray. Low-spec machines and reduced-motion preferences switch the animations off.
